Second scientific session of the EP registered branch was held on May 16th. Next session will be on the 2nd of August.
|
The first scientific session and the general assembly of the Electrophysiology and pacemaker branch of Iranian Heart Association was held on Feb. 22nd and after extensive negotiations the following doctors were elected as the Board of Directors: |
Tehran Universities: Dr. Sadr Ameli and Dr. Yaminisharif
Private hospitals: Dr. Oraii
Governmental hospitals: Dr. Bakhshian
Other States: Dr. Samienasab
|
Following a whole-year effort of a committee to revise the current organization of Iranian Heart Association, the creation of Registered Subspecialty Branches was approved. Concerning the Electrophysiology and pacemaker branch, a provisional executive committee including Doctors Sadr Ameli, Moghadam and Oraii were appointed to call upon currently practicing electrophysiologists and set the stage for an election of the managing board of the branch. The main original mission of the revised organization and the creation of the branches was to change the current exclusive nature of the organization and encourage the collaboration of colleagues from the hospitals all over the country. However according to the decision made by the majority of the executive committee (Doctors Sadr Ameli and Moghadam vs Oraii) and supported by the 3 members of the managing board of IHA (Doctors Noohi, Tabatabaii and Abdi vs Sami and Oraii) only those graduated from Rajaii Hospital and a few others whose career as electrophysiologists cannot be denied are being invited! This is a serious violation of the main purposes of the revised organization and proves once again that Iranian Heart Association cannot be still considered representative of Iranian cardiology community. Slides describing the revised organization are available on the website.
